Who We Are
The All Africa Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (AAASME) was formed in 2017, during the Afro Champions Boma on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) held in Kigali, Rwanda; boma is a Swahili expression for a gathering for the discussion of issues of interest to the community. The conference was focused on examining the challenges faced by SMEs across Africa.
The thoughts to form AAASME was conceived during the SME and Banking Africa Forum, A Boma by Mr.Didier Acouetey led Africa-SME Champions held on 13-15 November,2017 in Kigali,Rwanda.
On March 1, 2018, the World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) led by its President, Alhaji Babale Girei, during the 2018 Africa SME Roundtable, inaugurated a Ten-Man Executive Board for AAASME, with Ambassador kheswer Jankee (Former Mauritius Ambassador to Germany).
Our Programs
The activities of AAASME is geared towards helping Small and medium Enterprises thrive irrespective of their growth stage.
We have programs that cater form Ideation, Incubation, Start-Up and Scaling Up stages.

AAASME Co-Organizes 1st AU SME Forum.
The African private sector and especially start-ups are still facing many obstacles including inadequate government regulation, restrictive policies, poor infrastructure (particularly in power and transport), severe skills shortages and mismatches between employers’ needs and available workers (particularly those just out of school), trade restrictions, tariff and non-tariff barriers to African exports, difficulties in obtaining medium and long-term finance on affordable terms, and a large informal sector.
